Presentation of the book “ La mia vita universitaria”

On 11 February, 2017 was held the presentation of the book “ La mia vita universitaria: Memorie di una scrittrice Albanese nella Roma fascista (1937-1941)” (My university life: Memories of an Albanian writer in fascist Rome) of Mauro Geraci and Simonetta Ceglie. This book is a collection of memoirs of Musine Kokalari during her study years at “La Sapienza” University in Rome (1937-1941) at the time of the fascist regime. Among the participants in the event were Minister of Culture Ms Mirela Kumbaro, Mayor of Gjirokastra Ms Zamira Rami, Head of Musine Kokalari Institute Ms Linda Kokalari and authors Mr. Mauro Geraci and Ms. Simonetta Ceglie. In her word the Minister of Culture reinforced the commitment of the Ministry of Culture in restoring the house of Musine Kokalari in Gjirokastra. Ms Kumbaro, also emphasised the importance of the contribution of Musine Kokalari’s family in all the projects in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture. The special exhibition opened at the National Library of Albania, which presents pieces from Musine’s dossier, writings and personal objects, will travel to Gjirokastra in the following days. Also, the Minister of Culture announced the financing of the publication of the entire work of Musine Kokalari’s graduation thesis, which will be first presented in Gjirokastra at “Eqerem Çabej” University.
